With an iPad release every year more or less, there always have to be some special features in order to keep the punters interested and buying new devices. Some believe that Apple lost innovation following on from the death of Steve Jobs, but the rumor mill is already churning out some exciting and noticeable differences for the iPad 5 come October.
One key rumor is how the third version of Gorilla Glass may be included. The main perk to this is how it can reduce the appearance of scratches by two thirds, with the glass staying tougher for longer. This would be complemented by a snazzy new black appearance for the iPad that will give it a uniform look when compared to iPhones and iPad minis.
Also, Apple might be eliminating the use of Samsung’s A6X chips. It’s fair to say that the two manufacturers have been strange bedfellows, and speculation in China’s business coverage suggests that the firm is looking towards TSMC’s A7 chips in the future. No comment on all of this as of yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
